TUESDAY TRENDS – UNCONVENTIONAL CANNABIS
Trends come and go. Some stick, some don’t. Trends are only trending until… well… until they’re not. In which case, we then all have new trends to talk about. Trending topics are always a major point of discussion amongst us at Protis Global. We love to share articles and information about the latest and greatest and predict whether it’s here to stay or a short-lived wave.
So the question is, why do we pay any mind to them at all?
The short answer is, because you have to know the industry you’re operating in. PAY ATTENTION AND DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE. Exposure and knowledge is the only way to know what is a fad and what is an advance or advantage.
Wouldn’t more benefit come from betting on what is 100% known and stick to the plan?
First of all, it’s not a bet if its 100% certain and we all know nothing in business is 100%. You have to be responsive in your industry just to stay alive in today’s fast-paced business environment and being cognizant of trends are a part of that mindfulness.
Regardless, we all agree that it is imperative to be educated on these trends. We talk about them, so we thought you might like to listen in! So let’s get to it!
This week we’ll be talking about one of the topics that you may have noticed is one of our favorites: CANNABIS!
Specifically we are going to chat about all of the more unconventional uses and applications of the plant. Gone are the days where marijuana consumption was limited to smoke inhalation and decarboxylated edibles.
Beyond the obvious recreational benefits are the wellness and medicinal advantages that many industries are extremely interested in capitalizing on.
Now, thanks to science and research, we can isolate many of the components with specific properties and use them for targeting relief and aid.
First, though we’re sure by now most of you know this, THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid that allows people to feel the “high.” This component is the biggest factor in most recreational use scenarios.
So lets start with industrial hemp. Industrial hemp contains less than 1% THC so cannot be used for the recreational benefits. Hemp can benefit farmer’s crops and is good for the soil. Hemp can also replace cotton in many of its applications. Hemp’s potential seems limitless and can be transformed into clothing, fuel, biodegradable plastic, paper, and so much more. Now, the US government is pulling back on classifying Hemp in the same way that Cannabis is classified.
This leads us to CBD. CBD is the cannabinoid that, for now, seems to be the most useful in medicinal and wellness applications. CBD is now being utilized in topical forms more than ever. There are topical creams, anti-inflammatory patches, serums, salves, balms and much more. CBD products can be utilized to lessen the effects of wearing high heels, calm the anxiety of household pets, catalyze healing of burns and dermal injuries. It can also restore balance, increase mental state and promote agility to the elderly.
