Meet Michael Bitar
A former accountant who made a decisive pivot into talent strategy, Michael brings nearly three decades of analytical rigor, operational discipline, and deep sector expertise to every engagement.
His work goes well beyond filling roles. Michael advises founders, CEOs, and investors across the consumer goods landscape on one of the most consequential decisions a company makes: who should lead the business through its next stage of growth. Whether an organization is navigating rapid scale, transitioning from founder-led to professionally managed, or preparing for a capital event, Michael helps leadership teams gain clarity on what the role truly requires—then identifies the leaders who can carry the business forward.
Under his leadership, Protis Global earned recognition as a Top 5 executive recruiting office worldwide within MRINetwork, outperforming more than 200 firms and 1,000 recruiters globally. Over the course of his career, Michael has partnered with more than 700 individuals and helped hundreds of CPG organizations hire professionals across every level, from operational managers to C-suite executives. His clients have included Olipop, Red Bull North America, poppi, Hostess, Zing Zang, and American Born Moonshine—among many others navigating critical inflection points.
This track record of consistent, high-impact delivery has earned Michael numerous industry honors, including 15 consecutive years of MRINetwork top performer recognition, and the distinction of Top Producer of the Decade.
Before entering executive search, Michael built his professional foundation at Ernst & Young, Nabisco, and Bic, where he developed the financial acumen and business insight that continue to set him apart. He was also an early-stage investor in Angel’s Envy, the premium bourbon brand later acquired by Bacardi.
Beyond work, Michael is deeply invested in the future of the recruiting profession, actively mentoring emerging search consultants both within Protis Global and across the broader industry. He is also a proud father of three sons and an unapologetic Pittsburgh sports fan.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Hillsdale College in Michigan.
