Meet Brian

I love making connections with people, learning about their journeys, and understanding the motivations for their choices that shape the person they’ve become today.

  1. How did you get to where you are professionally?

I launched my career in commercial real estate, working in both research and sales for an analytics company before jumping over to the debt side, where I was an underwriter for a multifamily lender for a few years. I eventually found myself drawn to the stock market, so I decided to leave Washington, DC, after 11 years to work for myself as an independent day trader, trading stocks, options, and futures contracts with my capital for four years in San Francisco.

  1. Why recruitment? Why Protis Global?

I love making connections with people, learning about their journeys, and understanding the motivations for their choices that shape the person they’ve become today. Recruitment forces you to utilize that skillset on both the candidate and client-side. You need to develop a deep, thorough understanding of what both parties are looking for in a position to make the placements with the best candidates that hit the ground running from day one and stick around longer than year one. This can only be achieved by taking an investigative approach to understand someone’s actual values and priorities and getting to the bottom of what discrepancies exist between who they think they are and what they think they want.

After working at only large, publicly traded companies my entire career, the idea of working for a smaller, scrappier organization was extremely attractive to me. Protis Global provides a rare opportunity to make a tangible mark, see and feel the fruits of your efforts, and contribute to the firm’s long-term growth. Protis Global was a glove-like fit from day one for me because they’re an extraordinarily talented and diverse team who works hard, plays hard, and there isn’t a person here who wouldn’t drop everything they’re doing to help a fellow member of the team. That’s the same environment I’ve always looked for, and now I feel I’ve finally found it.

  1. What is the most important thing you want people to know about you?

As a rookie in the industry, I feel I have something to learn from everyone and won’t be shy to ask. I’m here to learn and grow as a professional and human, and I work best with those who feel similarly.

  1. How do you stand out from the person next to you who does the same thing?

I ask more questions, bring more energy, and understand what’s being done and how it connects to the big picture. I’ll always take pride in trying to get it done better and faster while having more fun doing it.

  1. Are there any personal yet professional details you would like to share?

I’ve always been passionate about football (nowhere to go but up for my New York Giants 😊). Via some intelligent networking, I had the honor of writing for SBNation for over three years as a fantasy football columnist. If you ever need start/sit/trade/waiver wire advice from a former professional, I’m your guy!
