Strategic Account Manager – West – On-Premise


Purpose: Develops and implements Strategic Account strategies in order to achieve pre-determined brand, volume, KPI objectives. Establishes strong relationships with account decision makers in order to maximize FWS business and brand presence in the on-premise chain to ensure flawless execution of chain programs through distributor/broker organization.

Job Duties:

· Establish all activity in assigned Strategic Accounts, including volume planning, spending initiatives and KPI objectives. Develop customized on-premise channel strategies and programs, as required, in order to advantage FWS portfolio. Secure account commitment to company goals and initiatives. Effectively communicate all Strategic Account programs to Sales, Marketing teams and to distributor/broker management in order to ensure exceptional execution of approved programs.
· Monitor all market performance and program results through retail account data, in-market surveys, and distributor compliance reporting in order to ensure volume targets and sell- through objectives (distribution, drink features, merchandising, promotion, back bar placements, etc) in the assigned accounts are achieved.
· Monitor all market spending to ensure that monies are effectively spent, maximizing value creation.
· Manage Promotion budgets appropriately in order to best position the company for annual budget achievement and long-term brand development. Conduct ROI analysis on all major programs executed within assigned accounts and make appropriate recommendations.
· Report on market results, as well as changing market activity on a routine basis. Provide recommendations, if required, on market actions needed in order to ensure plan achievement in the Strategic Account channel

Background Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· At least five years experience in wine and/or spirits industry
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing organization with often-shifting priorities
· Superior knowledge of wine industry
· Results orientation with strong judgment
· Cultural awareness with the ability to adapt communication style as needed

Related Skills:

· Provide appropriate guidance, counsel to wider Sales team in order to improve capabilities/performance in On-premise channel. Assist local Sales teams in the development targeted Regional On-premise Accounts, drawing on Strategic Accounts best practice.
· Ensuring programming executed in assigned accounts conforms to brand standards/strategies.
