As the Sr. Director, Quality Operations you will be responsible for leading Quality Operations for three manufacturing facilities across the US. Ensuring embedded food safety culture is top of mind in delivering consistent, uncompromised quality products (alcohol & non-alcohol) to the consumer market through testing, audit and certification of manufacturing/suppliers. You will be responsible for developing and executing a Quality Operations strategy that will result in best practice performance across the manufacturing function while proactively identifying and mitigating issues.
This role will report to the Vice President of Liquid Technology & Quality.
Oversee US Quality Testing
•Lead cross-site testing (standard lab testing, sensory, microbiology, and analytical assessments) including outsourced lab testing, raw-material and in-process.
•Develop consistent processes & standards, documentation, and reporting, and ensure completion by team.
•Identify testing improvement opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Identify & Mitigate Issues
•Identify and mitigate issues across all three US facilities including sensory, micro, analytical, consumer and customer.
•Collaborate with Quality Assurance CoE.
•Drive QA CoE support and partnership including QQ data, continuous improvement opportunities, protocol & policies completion.
Team & Leadership Functions (20%)
•Lead the optimization of a Greenfield state-of the Art brewery and packaging facility with capacity of over 85M cases of annual production.
•Responsible for sophisticated recruiting, on boarding, training, and providing leadership for an operations team focused on continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
•Evaluate talent and make personnel decisions that create an environment of inclusiveness, mutual trust and understanding consistent with our company culture.
•Develop departmental leaders to effectively manage autonomous working teams responsible for brewing, batching and packaging operations running on a 24/7 schedule.
•Involvement with the local community, including creating & maintaining a relationship with local governance and organizations to support the employment of a diverse workforce.
•Food safety culture and lead cross-site Quality Operations for US RTDs, Spirits and Non-Alcohol beverage including testing, audit and certification of in-house manufacturing and identification and mitigation of issues.
•Build a high performing team via mentorship and talent management.
•Quality assurance protocols and policies in the US
•Manufacturing, supplier and distributor decisions in the US
•Global Quality Operations policies and procedures
•US production holds, in collaboration with Supply Chain
•Hold US production in event of high severity quality issues and in communication with Supply Chain
•Manufacturing, supplier and distributor decisions
Quality & Food Safety Experience
10+ years of experience in Quality with 8+ in beverage and/or alcohol. Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Chemistry, Food Science or Microbiology; advanced degree highly preferred.
Transformational Programs and New Product Execution
Must have experience in transformational programs resulting in best-in-class performance across all key areas of quality.
Experience must also include the execution of new products to market.
Plant Quality Focused
Management of the manufacturing process for our products with an emphasis on Safety, People, Quality, Customer Service and Cost resulting in a high-performance culture. Understanding of cleaning and sanitation technology.
Influential Leader
An expert in influencing others to achieve alignment across functions and regions. An Influential leader that is highly connected, can build teams and establish high-performance teams to drive outcomes quickly both internally and externally with deep relationships and contacts externally to leverage. Proven ability to develop, motivate, and empower employees while fostering an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
•Understanding of food production standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
•Working knowledge of ISO, GMP, JSA, and HACCP food safety as it relates to the manufacturing process.
•Demonstrated success in management of direct reports across all shifts in 24/7 operation.
•Ability to manage and implement quality requirements including product specifications and sensory evaluation.
•Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to negotiate and influence effectively with internal and external partners
