Sales Leader – Mass Merchandise + Club

Summary:

Seeking a highly-motivated, results-oriented sales professional to manage key club and mass merchandise accounts. Based in Anoka, MN or Bentonville, AR, the Director of Sales will be responsible for effective leadership of the sales team located in Bentonville, AR, while creating a strong collaboration and partnership to the headquarters team. Responsible for sales strategy development and in-store execution, maintain and/or establish solid partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders, and develop a sales culture that focuses on strategic account management and key account partnership to drive revenue growth, increase sales within existing accounts, capture market share and maintain excellent customer satisfaction levels.

Job Duties:

  • Effectively drive profitable sales and market share growth through creation of strong key account relationships.
  • Develop project plans and motivate team to drive account management initiatives.
  • Develop and foster client relationships to ensure quality service, maximum account expansion/penetration, retention and profitability.
  • Identify short and long-term growth opportunities based on in-depth understanding of Company and customer strategies and objectives.
  • Provide leadership, support, and mentorship to the Bentonville office and effectively partner and collaborate with a cross-functional key account support team in Minneapolis.
  • Establish strong and effective relationships with key influencers at our customers and with our key licensor retail teams.
  • Strategic development of account solutions (product) and promotional programs.
  • Establish sales goals with responsibility for effectively communicating individual and group objectives throughout the sales organization.
  • Proactively plan the tactical transition of new programs and SKUs.
  • Maintain a cadence of regularly scheduled meetings with all assigned accounts and coordinate strategic review sessions to evaluate progress compared to identified goals and objectives.
  • Lead the team on strategic sales presentations and take accountability for customer requests, inquiries and feedback in a relevant and timely manner.
  • Monitor, evaluate, report and respond to market and competitor activity.
  • Resolve any food safety concerns, including a food package that is open to the food for any reason, and report situation to Senior Management and the SQF Practitioner.

Background Requirements:

  • 12+ years of progressive sales experience working with National Accounts with consumer goods/retail
  • 4-year degree in Business, Marketing or related field; MBA a plus.
  • Prior experience working with mass merchandise and club stores required.
  • High energy, positive and self-motivated; able to thrive in an independent, fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong strategic leadership and team management skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally at multiple levels within the Company.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Foster a collaborative team, providing both motivation and direction to drive excellence.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and time management skills with proven decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of accounts, market characteristics, competitive environment and growth opportunities.
  • High aptitude for understanding and utilizing technology within business.
  • Ability to travel roughly 20% of work schedule if necessary
