Senior Project Manager


The role of the Senior Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize cross-functional organization-wide projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role will be responsible for planning work, assessing resource availability, securing and managing external resources where needed, tracking and communicating progress on key capital projects.

Job Duties:

She/he must have a combination of technical, organizational and communication skills in order to oversee all aspects of project management. Responsibilities include the coordination and completion of capital and cross functional projects on time within budget and within scope. Setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring and summarizing progress of project are critical as well as preparing reports for executive management regarding status of project and recommendations.

Background Requirements:

• Responsible for project management lifecycle activities including (but not limited to):
• Initiating projects: Work with members of the business unit to clarify the current challenge, identify options to address it technically using existing systems or 3rd party vendors, establish high level scope and budget, quantify the business benefits, and propose recommended solution(s) via documentation and presentations to senior management
• Product management mindset – delivering projects with the bigger picture of the product roadmap and long-term services in mind
• Planning projects: Perform extended requirements gathering, finalize scope, develop RFP(s), develop schedule to minimize conflict between business activities and concurrent projects, finalize initial project budget and timeline, document all above planning steps
• Executing and Monitoring projects: Act as the primary point of contact on the project, moderate project status meetings, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks, ensure projects are performing to scope, budget, and timeline, communicate changes, provide appropriate status reports to executive management and stakeholders, develop test plans and coordinate their execution
• Provide support for implemented systems. As more serious organizational or technical issues arise, define the parameters of the problem and communicate to internal experts or third-party vendors for resolution
• Manage day-to-day activities of business systems analysis as well hiring, coaching, development, setting goals and evaluating performance
• Investigate business processes to gain in depth knowledge ahead of future projects and initiatives
• Develop, improve, and champion good project management and project execution practices within the Operations, R&D, finance and Sales & Marketing Team
• Introduce and develop methodologies in a fast-paced high growth driven environment
• Ensure that projects in the organization are following Project Management Institute recognized and company adopted standards and best practices, as well as financial reporting requirements
• Partner with the team members to promote and evolve design, development, and testing standards
• Adhere to company policies and procedures when performing tasks to ensure controls are in place and goals are met. Adhere to standards for testing, documentation, and change management
• Working conditions: Occasional travel may be required (<20%) to Kentucky, South Carolina and other 3rd party facilities
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Meet with clients to take detailed briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
• Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
• Use and continually develop leadership skills
• Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
• Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
• 6+ years of experience in a fast-moving consumer goods company (spirits preferred)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE 2 certification is a plus
