The General Sales Manager will be charged with driving revenue, profit and sales volume within the Eastern USA through our distributor and customer network. The General Sales Manager will also be responsible for leading a team of District Sales Managers and Market Development Managers within their geography who work directly with distributors and outlets to drive the availability and volume of Brands within their assigned market areas. The General Sales Manager will be a member of the Leadership Team and will have full accountability for delivery of their assigned financial and sales targets within their geography. We’re a small team and the incumbent in this role will need to lead from the front and think and act like an entrepreneur.

Job Duties:

• Strategic Planning: Build annual plans and forecasts down to market level to achieve regional revenue, volume and profit objectives. These plans should encompass distribution, activation, pricing activity, local marketing investment, and other relevant activities to support plan achievement
• Distributor Management: Directly develop market level plans with top distributors in region, secure their alignment to these plans, and collaborate, measure and course correct with distributor partners to support delivery of market level targets. This will include annual planning meetings, sales meetings, and ad hoc written and verbal communication
• Account Selection: Manage the selection of target accounts for focus markets within region
• Financial Management: Plan and manage pricing to ensure alignment with brand specific pricing strategies, manage and monitor price promotion, T&E, and all activation budgets within the region
• Directly plan and negotiate distributor investment and pricing activity as necessary, and support District Managers during these interactions as needed

• Sell-in: Directly sell against targets, programs, and initiatives with top distributors and retail accounts within assigned region. Support team members during sell-in to distributor and retail customers on a regular basis
• Take ownership of planning, execution and achievement of all KPI’s and targets within assigned region and regional target accounts. Primary output KPI‘s are revenue, sales volume and profit. Primary input KPI‘s are as follows: Availability, Affordability/Price, Visibility, and Quality
• Buyer call responsibility against targeted National and Regional accounts to develop portfolio through increased distribution, visibility and promotional activities.

People Leadership
• Build annual KPI’s and development goals for direct report team in support of Annual Operating Budget. Support employee performance and development through performance management process.
• Regularly communicate with team and work in-market with direct reports and provide feedback and coaching
• Address performance issues and opportunities within team and act accordingly in the best interests of the organization and individual

Background Requirements:

• Minimum of 6+ years relevant selling experience, industry, market experience and relevant relationships are strongly preferred
• Experience in and around the hospitality industry, beverage sales and/or distributor strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• People leadership experience required
• Strong analytical and financial acumen
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs as frequent lifting and handling of Asahi products are required
• Must be flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends as market needs require
