Drug Channel – Sr National Account Manager

Summary:

The National Account Senior Manager is responsible for growing volume and profit in assigned accounts; for achieving sales merchandising, pricing, promotional and new product objectives. Establish and effectively manages the professional business relationship with all assigned accounts. Leads negotiations and influences at the assigned accounts to gain alignment with the company’s strategic plan. Analyzes the business environment to develop annual strategic plans and participates in the annual strategic plan development process.

Job Duties:

  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel at assigned accounts
  • Coordinates the involvement of cross-departmental personnel (customer service, marketing, finance, supply chain, demand planning etc.) in order to meet account performance objectives and customer’s expectations
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts 3
  • Delivers the annual volume, revenue, trade spends and profit plan
  • Consistently analyzes and reviews business trends to identify gaps to plan and execution
  • Actively participates in Annual Planning and Consensus Forecast process, in collaboration with Finance and other cross-functional teams
  • Develop annual promotion plan while adhering to National Account Trade Spending Plan, and ensure flawless execution through consistent customer engagement and buy-in
  • Actively participate in customer payment processing including financial contracts, and collections.
  • Lead and develop sales and broker team (if applicable).
  • Actively coordinates and implements customer
  • Joint Business Planning (JBP) process, category management reviews, and on sales analysis sessions using syndicated and/or customer specific data

Background Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of strategic sales experience with a leading consumer packaged goods organization
  • National account fact-based direct-selling experience required, Walgreens preferred
  • Proficient in working with analytical CPG Data (Nielsen/IRI)
  • Proven track record of effective trade and P&L management
  • Demonstrated skillful negotiation capability with Buyers and Senior Buyers in the CPG industry
  • Proven ability to successful work with cross functional teams
