Terressentia was founded in Charleston in 2006 where our Headquarters and bottling plant are based. By purchasing spirit distillate in bulk and then applying TerrePURE® finishing and then bottling, Terressentia built a successful business supplying Premium Private Label Brands (brands exclusive to key Retailers) and Private Brands (bottling 3rd party owned brands). In 2014, the company acquired a historic Bourbon distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky which dates back to 1885. After significant investment, the O.Z. Tyler distillery began production in 2016 and following a further expansion currently underway, Terressentia will be producing almost 100,000 barrels of Bourbon and Rye each year making us one of the largest independently owned distilleries in America. We already know from awards won that the combination of Jacob Call’s skills (3rd generation master distiller) and the application of TerrePURE® technology, we have world class whiskey aging and available for sale. The Bulk and Export Sales Manager is responsible for managing strategic customer accounts both nationally and globally to support tote and tanker sales, maximizing all opportunities for sales with both established and new customers, and drive sales targets to meet 5 year plan.

Job Duties:

Ø Develop plans to acquire new customers or clients, through direct sales techniques, cold calling, and business-to-business marketing visits
Ø Present entire line of Kentucky whiskies and other spirits to prospects and existing national and global customers. Explains products to customers matching customers’ needs with the appropriate products.
Ø Quotes prices and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Estimates delivery date to customer based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
Ø Demonstrates products and services and explains features of each product and service. Emphasizes benefits of Terressentia products and services to potential customers.
Ø Increases sales and margin profit through penetration to assigned accounts and by closing new accounts.
Ø Answers customer inquiries and satisfactorily resolves customer complaints.
Ø Responsible for managing the entire sales cycle- prospecting, vetting leads, forecasting, contract negotiation, order management, etc.
Ø Prepares required reports and keeps expense accounts.
Ø Keeps current with industry technical knowledge, monitor customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
Ø Global travel required- attend global trade shows, tastings, events, and market visits as needed for product exposures and customer support.

Background Requirements:

§ 10+ years of experience managing national / global accounts and sales in the United States is a requirement. Global Sales Experience is preferred.
§ Experience in the wine and spirits industry (the 3-tier distribution network) is a requirement.
§ A strong track record of sales generation and retention is a requirement.
§ Relationships within the alcohol industry is a requirement, domestic and/or global.
§ Excellent communication skills required.
§ Experience working with and “managing” multiple stakeholders (both colleagues, supervisors and external agencies) on different teams to get projects completed on time.
§ Experience in evaluating work and providing positive feedback- as well as tough but fair feedback – to deliver a product of integrity on time – is essential.
§ In-depth knowledge in strategy, financial planning, inventory control and forecasting.
§ Experience in Microsoft Office with special focus in Power Point and Excel.
