Brewery People Operations Director
Location for the position: Glendale, AZ
Summary: People Operations Director is the HR Leader for our state-of-the art brewery in Glendale, Arizona providing support for 300 employees. The role is a tactical and strategic HR consultant working in partnership with site Brewing Leadership to optimize talent management, talent acquisition, performance management and employee-focused programs for all employees at the brewery. The Director works to enable exceptional business results through integrating programming that drives employee development & engagement. This ambassador of company culture will establish strong partnerships to guide best-in-class practices related to employee relations, talent development, diversity & inclusion and leadership succession planning. Partner with people managers at all leadership levels to align culture & values and support internal promotions and Total Rewards related to benefits and compensation for US businesses.
Job Duties: Strategic Planning (20%) · Build effective partnerships with business units to maintain and continue building a culture of innovation and performance excellence. · Drive organizational capability through assessing talent, identifying competency gaps, following through on succession plans, and the strategic movement of people. Technical Functions (30%) · Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and People Operations strategy. · Creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention, and reward programs. · Oversee employee relations and investigations. · Work collaboratively and continually innovate to drive the right business outcomes. Logistical Functions (20%) · As part of the People Operations team, collaborate with other members of the team to drive employee programs, change management activities, training, and adaptation for all processes. · Establish regular communication cadence with all senior leadership teams and deliver agreed upon KPIs, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and reporting. · Administer corporate wide initiatives designed to assess and recognize performance through bonus, merit, employee reviews (Reflektive) and other types of programs. Team & Leadership Functions (30%) · Provide coaching and solutions on matters related to employee performance and team effectiveness. · Guide leadership behaviors to improve team relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and drive retention. · Coaching and mentoring at all management levels for continued performance development.
Background Requirements: Qualifications, Education, & Experience · Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, psychology, or a related degree; Master’s degree preferred · Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist experience, including at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with progressing levels of responsibility Experience building foundational & best-in-class People programs SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred Strong knowledge of applicable laws & regulations · Skills & Abilities Ongoing professional development. Ability to successfully monitor the “pulse” of the employees to ensure a high level of engagement. Experience with a rapidly changing work environment. Be an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment. Ability to develop People Operations initiatives through needs assessment and external benchmarking. · Quickly build trust and respect of the leadership team, People Operations team and peers, and employees. · Impeccable written and verbal communication skills including presentation and negotiation. · Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task.
