Assistant Processing Manager


The business is a “blue-collar” manufacturing-based operations-oriented workplace and the ideal candidate will have experience in a like or similar environment. The Assistant Processing Manager is a mission critical role that requires a proactive, hands-on approach to assist in shaping the culture. He/she will be responsible for assisting in managing the day-to-day operations of a very large state of the art cannabis processing facility. Reports and works directly with the Processing Manager. Provides support for all processing staff, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information. The Assistant Processing Manager is responsible for assisting in managing all departments of our processing operations including but not limited to the extraction, analytical lab, batching, production, edibles, shipping, quality, and receiving areas. Oversees and manages personnel to perform all the tasks necessary to process extraction and production of various formulated products. The Assistant Processing Manager helps to oversee and maintain quality control measures to ensure high quality product and carries out day-to-day tasks including monitoring all departments listed above and their daily functions.

Job Duties:

Major Responsibilities:
• Assist in overseeing and managing all processing employees to perform the tasks necessary to process and get ready for market high quality cannabis produced from a large-scale indoor grow operation
• Assist in overseeing production by creating and reviewing production schedule; studying and clarifying specifications; calculating processing requirements
• Compliance with Company policies and procedures
• Responsible for all processing manager activities in the absence of the processing manager
• Assure that the production schedules and manpower requirements are properly met and monitored
• Ensure processing operation is fully compliant with state regulations and federal and state law
• Assure that operation adheres to all business and industry license requirements
• Maintaining strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals and equipment used in the laboratory and documents production by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
• Maintain access to limited access areas
• Will be monitoring and guiding the extraction, batching, lab, processing, batching, shipping, receiving, kitchen, and maintenance departments

Background Requirements:

• Proper and safe handling and disposal of harmful chemicals, substances, and hazardous wastes
• Capabilities with computer systems, software, and hardware common to laboratories
• Record-keeping procedures
• Thorough understanding of state and local medical marijuana laws and how they apply to the operations
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Team-based management practices are implemented
• Effective time-management and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
• Must have a deep understanding of mechanics and functions to maintain climate control system
• Bi-lingual Spanish speaker (preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to manage through change and challenge the status quo
• Strong consultative and partnership skills
• MS Office and email proficiency
