DEAR CROSBY: I FEEL LIKE MY COWORKERS RELY ON ME TO PICK UP THEIR SLACK

DEAR CROSBY,

I FEEL LIKE MY COWORKERS RELY ON ME TO PICK UP THEIR SLACK THOUGH WE HAVE THE SAME JOB.  DO I SPEAK UP? TO WHO?

My dad loves leaders! (I am the leader of the dogs in my neighborhood).  Taking the initiative to get your pack together to discuss efficiency might be a start.  If that isn’t an option or doesn’t get the results you hope for then you should meet with your immediate supervisor.  Be well prepared for the conversation with documented examples and suggestions for improvement without finger pointing at specific individuals.  It’s important to stick to the subject at hand, be respectful but remember it’s not necessarily about being liked, it’s about getting things done. Respect the team, time and goals you’ve all decided upon enough to have the tough talks. Accountability is important and it’s a defining attribute of a badass pack. This can be a ruff conversation, but worth it.

Treats and Belly Rubs,

Your buddy in life and recruiting,

Crosby
